Here’s how you can make perfect s’mores using Roasting Sticks:
Simply skewer the marshmallows with the sticks, do it with each end of the fork. Extend the fork and hold the marshmallow just over the campfire, let it roast to your liking- most forks extend 34″ long so you can roast while sitting far from the flames (this makes roasting s’mores safe when you have young kids around).
Be sure to rotate the marshmallows so that they cooks evenly, you can use the rotating handle in order to do this. The rotating helps roast the marshmallow evenly while preventing one side from getting too hot and starting to burn.
Putting a marshmallow into leaping flames will always set it on fire and burn it (of course if you do burn it you can pick out the burned parts and eat the soft inside). Holding it over low coals will caramelize it to a nice golden brown color on the outside and this is exactly what you want to achieve.
For optimal results, wait until the fire has burned long enough to produce hot coal areas, these areas will provide oven like warmth without igniting your marshmallow.
The real pros get their marshmallows to fully melt inside while making sure the outside part doesn’t burn at all (it takes some practice but can definitely be done). Constantly rotating the marshmallows and keeping it above the hot coal areas will get you there.
When your done transfer the marshmallow without removing the marshmallow from the skewer, place it on top of the Hershey bar that’s placed on top of the graham cracker.
Place the second cracker on top of the marshmallow and press down on it slightly. The hot marshmallow will melt the chocolate and help fuse everything together.
Squish the marshmallow in between the graham crackers, pull the fork out and serve the s’more. Wait a few seconds before serving the s’more, this gives the marshmallow some time to cool down so that it doesn’t burn your mouth.
Have fun and enjoy.
